The Joys of Retail…

The other day, I was working outside in the garden center. Now, I know absolutely nothing about flowers. I know you put them in the ground and they’re pretty. And they need water. That’s about it. lol. So when people come up asking me if we have a certain type of flower, I immediately start looking for someone who knows what they’re talking about. 

To make this one particular situation even worse, she didn’t know what the flowers were called. So she started describing them to me:

“They’re the purple and white flowers you see on the sides of hills or in ditches next to the road sometimes…They are really low to the ground…They come back every year…”

I automatically started looking around for someone else, but then I stopped. Purple and white flowers. Every year. Clover. AKA WEEDS! This lady had come into Lowes to buy WEEDS. 

In the nicest tone I could find without laughing out loud, I politely informed her that we don’t sell those. lol.
